Jemand spielt Klavier... Wohl ein Gast um diese Zeit...Wir hatten ja gestern Abend Bilder bestellt. Diese sollten in die Kabinen zugestellt werden. Weil aber dafür keiner mehr da war, müssen wir sie jetzt selbst an Rezeption abholen. Diejenigen, die nicht vorbestellt haben, werden am Frühstückstisch beliefert.
We ordered some pictures last night. They should be delivered to your cabin. Because they had nobody to do this, we had to collect the pictures by ourselves at the front desk. Those who did not pre-ordered got their pictures delivered to their table with breakfast.At the upper deck, you got the egg station and everything else.
Oben gibt es die Eierstationen und alles andere.Und so sah es unten aus.

Here gab es Sekt und Smoothies zum Frühstück.
Here you could get sparkline wine and smoothies for breakfast. Als wir dann zum Frühstück kamen, hieß es, dass ich mir meinen Tee an der Teestation selbst holen sollte. Dort treffe ich andere Kellner, die ihren Gästen den Tee an den Tisch bringen...
When we came for breakfast I was told that I had to get my tea by myself at the tea station. There I met many other waiters who got the tea for their table.Temporarily you cannot get any rolls. The difference good and very good: You always had a full basket of rolls replacing a basket which slowly became empty. But this golden rule nobody knew but not only with the bread.
Brötchen gab es dann phasenweise gar nicht mehr. Der Unterschied zwischen sehr gut und gut: Es wird immer ein voller Brotkorb schon wieder hingestellt, bevor der andere leer ist. Aber dieser Grundsatz ist hier komplett unbekannt und nicht nur bei den Broten.Eine 2. Tasse Kaffee zu bekommen, gestaltet sich auch als schwieriger...
It was really quite more difficult to get a second cup of coffee...For the egg dishes, you got a menu, and you can place your order. I ordered a poached egg like I saw advertised early the morning at the entrance.
Es gibt für die Eierspeisen eine Karte, aus der man sich etwas bestellen kann. Ich bestelle mir ein pochiertes Ei, so wie es heute Morgen am Eingang aushing.Es kommt dann ein vereinsamtes pochiertes Ei...
Then an egg arrived which felt very lonely..."Mini-Pancakes with fruit sauce" - An when I checked again they changed the sign.
Und als ich nochmals nachgucke stelle ich fest, dass wohl das Schild noch ausgetauscht wurde.Auch Diana und Udo bestellen sich eine Eierspeise... Aber auch ihr Spiegelei kam auch vereinsamt...
And Diana and Udo ordered an egg dish... There fried egg arrived lonely too...The difference to Wolfgang: nothing was offered to top, but we had to ask for. I wanted another omelet with ham.
Der Unterschied zu Wolfgang war der, dass uns nichts zusätzlich angeboten wurde, sondern wir immer nachhaken mussten. Ich wollte dann noch ein Omelette mit Schinken.Stattdessen bekomme ich jedoch ein Omelette mit allem drin, außer Schinken. Ich hatte auch keine Lust mehr. Irgendwie hätte ich die Diskussion mit der Rezeption, dass ich für die Crew-Mitglieder Geld wechseln wollte, ersparen können. Denn zum ersten Mal hatte ich gar keine Lust etwas zu geben und da zu lassen. Ich habe nun mal ein anderes Verständnis von Service. Wolfgang hat als Kellner zum Dinner etwas bekommen. Auch unsere Kabinenstewardess. So ein schönes Schiff und eine andere Crew und ich würde dauernd mit ihnen fahren... Aber so konnten sie mich nicht überzeugen - zumindeste haben sie es nicht in einer Nacht geschafft. Vielleicht kommen wir mal wieder.
Instead I got an omelette with everything inside but ham. I did not like it anymore. Somehow I should not spend the effort to change money for tips at the front desk. The very first time I really did not want to tip and to leave money. I had a different understanding of what service was. Wolfgang got some tips for dinner. Our cabin stewardess too. Such a nice ship and a different crew and maybe it could become my favorite ship... But so they could not convince me - or better they could not convince in one night. Maybe we would come back again.When we left the ship, we passed the outdoor parking. We could get parking per night for about 6.00 USD. But it was too hot.
Als wir aussteigen, kommen wir an den Außenparkplätzen vorbei. Hier hätten wir für 4,50 EUR die Nacht parken können. Aber es war zu heiß.Weil wir aber nicht vorreserviert hatten, bleibt uns nur das Parkhaus Holzhafen, in dem wir für 16,00 EUR kühl uns unterstellen konnten.

Wenn man also nur 4,50 EUR als Kreuzfahrer zahlen will, lädt sich das iPhone App von OPG-Parking herunter oder bucht auf der Webseite vor.So zahlen wir und fahren nach Hildesheim, um dort weiter mit der Bahn zu fahren. Bloß, dass wir wegen des Radrennens nicht sofort in den Elbtunnel können, sondern bis zum Deichtor fahren müssen, um dort durch einen Tunnel zu den Elbbrücken zu kommen. Wriklich schade, dass man für den Preis, den wir gezahlt haben, nicht auch ein Rundum-Sorglos-Paket angeboten hat. Im Grunde genommen habe ich bekommen, was ich gebucht hatte: einen guten Platz, um sich das Feuerwerk anzusehen. Nicht mehr und nicht minder. Niemand hatte ein Mitternachtsbüffet oder durchgehend guten Service gesprochen und mir vorab gesagt, dass ich selbst meine Eiswürfel mitbringen muss....
So we paid and return to Hildesheim to get on our homebound train. Due to a cycle race, we could not use the fastest way through a tunnel and had to go through the entire city to get on one of the bridges. Very sorry that you did not get a real full-care-package. But honestly, I got exactly what I booked for: a great place to see the firework. Nothing more and nothing less. None promised a midnight buffet or an all-time good service and told me that I need to carry my ice-cubes by myself...Die anderen Reisen in diesem Blog/
